In March, a group of 6 scouts took on the rain and made the first backpacking trip we have taken in about 2 years. They walked through the rain for the first hour then the clouds parted ways and they had a beautiful view of the San Gabriel Valley from the first lookout up Monroe Truck Trail. The ventured down Mystic Canyon and into Big Dalton Campground for the cold night. They boys experienced backpacking food and filtering water from the stream. It was a great experience and the boys learned a lot from this quick trip.
